Musketeer Racing To Compete at 2002 Baie de Chaleurs Rally.
New York, NY - Musketeer Racing, a New York City-based performance rally team, is preparing to compete in the 2002 Baie de Chaleurs Rally. More than 60 teams are entered in the event, the fifth round of the Subary Canadian Rally Championships. The event is being held July 4-7, 2002 in New Richmond, Quebec, on the south end of the Gaspe peninsula.
Canadian driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and Swedish co-driver Christian Edstrom, now both of New York City, expect to be highly competitive for the overall and Open class title at the event. The team is competing in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV, a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive performance sedan.
Comrie-Picard comes off three consecutive podium finishes in Canadian Association of Rally Sport (CARS) National events, the last two at the Bighorn and Rocky Mountain rallies, both held in Alberta in May. He is now first novice in the Canadian championship, first open class in the Canadian championship, and third overall in the Canadian championship.
The Baie de Chaleurs course consists of 195 km of special stages. Spectators will have the opportunity to see the team compete in the forest, and will have a chance to see all the cars and meet the drivers at the Parc Expose in New Richmond, Que. Said Comrie-Picard, "Baie is a very challenging rally on cars and competitors. The heat and the multi-day format require fitness, concentration, and preparation." Added Edstrom, "We look forward to the challenge, and also to the great Quebec spectators!"
Musketeer Racing is supported by Timefactors.com, a Sheffield, UK-based retailer and manufacturer of quality timepieces. The team relies exclusively on the Timefactors PRS-1 "Speedbird" automatic mechanical watch for all timing needs. More information on the web at www.timefactors.com.
